Pilates

Pilates is named after its creator Joseph Pilates in the 1920s and works to emphasize proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Benefits:

  • Improves flexibility
  • Increased muscle strength and tone particularly in ‘core muscles’
  • Improves balance which is important for older people

 

The exercises are both standing and mat based so if you have an exercise mat please bring it along.
